On the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the Model Town tragedy, a prayer ceremony was held at the Jama Al-Mustafa Islamic Center in Mississauga for the repose of the late Subedar Muhammad Aslam, the father-in-law of the martyrs of Model Town and Qari Shafiq Ahmad Naimi Al-Azhari, and the father of the president of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Canada.
Speaking on this occasion, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that he cannot forget the cruelty of June 17, he wants justice according to the law. Even after 9 years, the heirs of martyrs are demanding justice. On June 17, 2014, there was cruelty to the workers. The workers were brutally tortured without provocation, and 14 workers, including women, were martyred.
He said that he prays to Allah Almighty to raise the ranks of Model Town martyrs further and grant perseverance to the heirs. We stand with our martyrs and their heirs and will continue to stand with them until justice is served.
The significant ceremony witnessed the participation of distinguished figures, including Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Al-Madani Al-Qadri, and Shaykh Ahmad Mustafa Al-Arabi Al-Qadri, all of whom played a special role in the proceedings.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, leading the gathering in prayer, beseeched Allah, the Exalted, to elevate the ranks of the departed soul and grant fortitude to the bereaved family.
In the prayer ceremony, the well-known Qawal Sher Miandad Khan offered Naat Sharif. President Minhaj-ul-Quran Canada Kamran Rashid, Masood Bhai, Syed Mahmood Tirmizi, Shaukat Bhatti, Qari Ashfaq Amini, Imran Mian, Qari Khalid Usman Alvi, and other personalities belonging to different walks of life in the Pakistani community participated.
